Elephant Library Bag

I know, I know that title isn't exactly inspired but I'm not feeling very creative at the moment so it'll have to do.  Sorry!  I do, though, think that it is high time I blogged about this little library bag - which I finished over a month ago for my friend's then-nearly 1 year old darling daughter.

I modeled the size and shape after this library bag so it just consists of a simple tote construction with a pocket on the front.

As you can see, I chose very girly-girl fabrics and then couldn't resist adding a little elephant applique to jazz things up.  I'm definitely in an elephant loving phase at the moment.

That's it basically.  It was gifted along with some fun little board books, but I can totally see it being used to carry around all sorts of precious goodies, as Miss N's imagination grows.  I hope she likes it!

Zippity Do Da

I'm being a bit naughty today.  I had promised Yvette, my partner in the Sweet Pouch Swap, that I'd keep the finished item as a surprise... but...

SWEET POUCH SWAP - bird pouch front

I'm really sorry but I couldn't resist.  I am ridiculously stoked about this finish and just couldn't keep my mouth shut.  I know, I know, you're not supposed to be so chuffed with your own work but, as I've been in a major slump of late, this has been a lovely breath of fresh air.

Yvette had stated that she liked bright, happy colours; linen and birds so I ran with it.  I hope this piece of rainbow-y goodness makes her smile.

For the first time, I used Noodlehead's tutorial for the Open Wide Zippered Pouch - and I love it.  The whole thing came together quickly and easily and the super spacious opening is perfect.  I will be making more of these.

SWEET POUCH SWAP - bird pouch inside

I found the lining fabric just yesterday when I ducked in to grab a zip and I just couldn't go past those bright jellybeans.  The colours match perfectly.

Finishing at 11" x 8.5" this little beauty is now stuffed with sweet treats and ready for it's trip all the way to Tennessee.

I hope you like it Yvette!
